Are you experiencing buffering problems while watching live TV through TiviMate? In this guide, I’ll show you how to fix buffering on TiviMate.
This guide is geared toward FireStick devices but these solutions also work on Android devices.
TiviMate is a popular IPTV player that allows you to watch Live TV, movies, shows, and more.
Buffering or the spinning wheel of death (as some like to call it) can be frustrating and can make us want to pull out our hair. All of us have experienced buffering from time to time.
Now, slow internet is usually the main culprit behind buffering but there can be other reasons as well. Let’s look at its symptoms and causes first. Then, we’ll walk you through the measures you can take to banish buffering on TiviMate and get back to smooth playback.
Which Buffering Symptoms Are You Experiencing?
If you are experiencing the following symptoms, it is most likely on your end:
- The vast majority of channels in each playlist are buffering.
- Sometimes everything works fine, but other times, there is a lot of buffering.
- One device works flawlessly, while another one buffers.
If you are experiencing the following symptoms, the issue is most likely with the provider/playlist:
- Not all of your playlist buffer.
- Only a few of the channels buffer, while the rest play normally.
Why is TiviMate Buffering?
Buffering on TiviMate can occur for a variety of reasons, making it difficult to pinpoint the exact problem. Let’s look at some of the possible causes of TiviMate buffering issues:
- Your streaming device is not functioning properly
- Bandwidth is being hogged by other devices or apps.
- Wi-Fi/internet disruption
- Traffic overload on the specific Provider.
- Excessive cache build-up
- The device has insufficient storage or RAM.
- Geo-restricted content.
- The playlist itself is not working.
How to Fix Buffering Issues on TiviMate
Now it’s time to look at the solutions that can fix TiviMate buffering issues:
1. Reboot Your Router and/or Modem
Restarting your router/modem can help you resolve common Internet connection problems, thereby improving slow internet. If the buffering on TiviMate is due to slow internet, this should help you fix the problem.
To restart a modem or router, follow these steps:
- Unplug the router and/or modem from the power supply.
- Allow a few minutes for it to completely shut down.
- Reconnect the modem and/or router to power.
- Wait for the lights on the device to stop blinking and turn solid.
2. Disconnect Other Devices from the Wi-Fi Network
Check how many devices are using your Wi-Fi and disconnect anything that isn’t absolutely necessary. Make sure no Application is running in the background and is hogging the bandwidth.
Also, check that no downloads are taking place while you are streaming.
3. Use a VPN to Avoid being Throttled by ISP
The TiviMate buffering issue could simply be because the government or your Internet Service Providers has restricted the content you are attempting to stream in your geographical location.
Additionally, ISPs are notorious for throttling internet speed when they detect that you are using a third-party app, such as TiviMate for streaming.
Fortunately, you can avoid this problem by using a VPN. I personally recommend and use ExpressVPN.
ExpressVPN is the fastest and most secure VPN service on the market. It works with almost every operating system, including FireStick, Windows, Android, and iOS.
They are currently offering 49% off their yearly plan and also giving you 3 months for free. You also get a 30-day money-back guarantee, you can request a refund at any time within that time frame.
Here’s how you can set up ExpressVPN on Firestick:
1. First of all, sign Up for ExpressVPN HERE
2. Navigate to the Find Icon on your FireStick home screen.
3. Now, go to the Search option
4. Enter the word ExpressVPN using the onscreen keypad and select it from the Search results.
5. Now, click the ExpressVPN icon under Apps & Games section
6. Click on Get /Download and wait for it to install on your FireStick
7. Click Open to launch the ExpressVPN app
8. Enter your login credentials that you used when you registered for ExpressVPN. And click Sign In
9. Choose a server location of your choice and click the Power Icon to connect to the server.
Once connected, your IP address will change automatically. Meaning, your Internet activities are now anonymous and anything you stream on this FireStick device is safe from the prying eyes. It will also unblock geo-restricted content.

4. Clear Cache of TiviMate
The TiviMate app may become overburdened with temporary and cached data. As a result, it slows down.
As a result, clearing your app cache is a quick and easy way to resolve video buffering issues. A streamlined app will run faster, which will eliminate buffering issues.
Full Guide: How to Clear Cache on FireStick
To clear your app cache, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the Gear Icon on the home screen of your FireStick.
2. Now choose Applications.
3. Scroll to the bottom and click Manage Installed Applications.
4. Select the TiviMate app from the list of installed applications.
5. Choose Force Stop.
6. Finally, select Clear Cache.
I recommend clearing the cache of other apps on your device as well.
5. Set TiviMate Buffer Size to None
TiviMate allows you to set your buffer size. However, you only get this in TiviMate Premium. It’s an extremely useful feature. If you don’t want your TiviMate app to buffer,
1. Go to TiviMate’s Settings.
2. Then, select Playback.
3. Here you have the options to set buffer size. You get 5 options: None, Small, Medium, Large, and Very Large.
It’s set to Medium by default. If you set it to None, the buffering issues should be fixed.
6. Ensure That There is Enough Space in the FireStick.
You must have more than 500MB of available storage space for your apps to work properly on Fire TV devices. Uninstall any unnecessary apps that you do not use to make sure your device is not struggling to work properly.
To uninstall an app from your FireStick, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the Gear Icon on the home screen of your FireStick.
2. Next, choose Applications.
3. Scroll to the bottom and click Manage Installed Applications.
4. Choose the app you want to uninstall from the list of installed apps. I am taking Unlinked as an example here.
5. Select Uninstall.
6. Click Uninstall once more.
7. Restart FireStick
Restarting your FireStick device will kill any running processes that are causing buffering issues in the TiviMate IPTV player.
Detailed guide: How to Restart/Reboot FireStick
Let’s take a look at how to restart your FireStick:
1. From the FireStick home screen, select the Gear Icon.
2. Choose My Fire TV.
3. Now, select Restart.
4. Click Restart to confirm it again.
Now try streaming with TiviMate and see if the buffering issue is still there.
8. Consider Using Ethernet Cable
Using an Ethernet cable to connect your devices to the internet is more reliable and faster than using Wi-Fi. The network will not be as choppy and there will be no interference from other devices or walls.
You can use any Ethernet adapter of your choice.
9. Try A Different Playlist
The issue could be with the playlist you’re using. A different one might work just fine.
Change the MAC addresses (or the username and password) to see if that helps.
10. Use the Latest Version of the TiviMate App
If you want to enjoy buffer-free streaming, you must use the most recent version of the app. The older versions don’t perform as well and may crash or lag.
If you aren’t using the most recent version, simply uninstall the TiviMate and reinstall the app using our guide: How to Install & Setup TiviMate.
11. Update All Playlists
Update all your playlists. It may resolve the buffering issue. If possible, clear the EPG before updating it.
1. From the TiviMate’s home screen, go to Settings.
2. Select Playlists.
3. Click Update All Playlists.
12. Test a different IPTV player to see if the same playlist works
Install a different IPTV player on your device and add the same playlist to it to see if the playlist is working. Other similar IPTV players include OTT navigator, Ludio Player, and others.
A playlist may buffer or not play at all on one player but plays flawlessly on another.
13. Replace your Wi-Fi Device Every 5 Years
Buffering may occur if your Wi-Fi equipment is very old. You must replace your Wi-Fi device every 5 years. If your Internet provider provided you with the router/modem, request a replacement. If you have your own router/modem, invest in a high-quality model that would last you 4-5 years.
14. Reset the TiviMate App
Resetting an app is a quick way to fix a faulty app. It can also help with buffering issues.
When you reset an app, it restores it to its original state when it was first installed on your FireStick. It works in the same way as uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but it is much faster.
Please keep in mind that when you reset TiviMate, all of your saved playlists, settings, and preferences will be lost. So, make a backup of the app or reinstall it.
To reset TiviMate, follow the below steps:
1. Navigate to the Gear Icon on the home screen of your FireStick.
2. Next, choose Applications.
3. Scroll to the bottom and click Manage Installed Applications.
4. Select the TiviMate app from the list of installed applications.
5. Click Clear Data.
